Help Reunite Families

Many biological families whose children are in foster care are involved in cycles of poverty and addiction, and many of them were formerly in the foster care system themselves. The restoration of family is part of the solution for the foster care crisis. We need people who can show compassion and support to biological parents who want to heal and keep their children.

Can you help these parents in crisis?

One way to help is to be a foster family who supports the reunification of a child to his or her family of origin, if the courts recommend it. This can include things as simple as encouraging the parent during visits, sharing parenting techniques that seem to work with the child, and offering the parents photos of the child while in your care.

Another way to support biological families that does not involve fostering is volunteering for a program designed to come alongside biological parents with mentoring, training, and encouragement.
