Fostering Hope will describe their plans to support 150 foster and adoption ministries. SUMMARY:Summer Slide Support
DESCRIPTION:Summer vacation is often a time where parents feel overwhelmed and in need of more support. \nParents have reported feeling more isolated with the added stress of Covid-19 during this time and less able to parent in a connected\, trauma informed way. Summer Slide Support is a 6-week intensive support group for foster and adoptive parents. In this group you will have the opportunity to meet with other parents who foster and adopt \, have a short time to review trauma informed parent strategies led by a parent coach\, connect through group discussion and have a one on one time with a parent coach to guide you through the more difficult issues your children are experiencing. \nThe 6-week support group will meet via video conferencing call every other week with the parent support group\, and every week in-between those sessions you will have the opportunity to meet (virtually) with a parent coach for additional support. In your one on one tele coaching\, you can discuss and troubleshoot issues that are specific to your family regarding the topic that was covered in the previous week’s support group. \nAfter registering for the support group on the link below\, you will receive a link to join the virtually. \nThe schedule for this support group is as follows: \nTuesday\, June 9 from 7:30 pm -8:30 pm- Support Group \nWeek of June 15 – Tele Parent Coaching appointment  (optional) \nTuesday\, June 23 from 7:30 pm -8:30 pm- Support Group \nWeek of June 29 – Tele Parent Coaching appointment  (optional) \nTuesday\, July 7 from 7:30 pm- 8:30 pm -Support Group \nWeek of July 13- Tele Parent Coaching appointment  (optional) \nIf you are looking to connect with others who are in the same journey as you\, as well as get additional parenting support\, this group is for you!

As parents we must see the meaning behind the behavior and meet the need for our child to prevent power struggles. In this session we will discuss these difficult behaviors and how to respond to them using the IDEAL response from TBRI®.
