SUMMARY:TBRI® for Teens (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:This training will be offered via Zoom. \nDate & Time: Thursday\, December 9th from 9:30-12:30 \nThe teenage years can be a difficult transition for adolescents & the adults that love them. With all the stress the world puts on our teens … we want to make sure their safe space is with us while still helping them develop into healthy attached adults … no matter how long we have them! \nSo what does it look like to be a safe adult in the life of an adolescent who has loss\, trauma\, or the foster care system? \nWhat is TBRI®? \nTBRI® is an attachment-based\, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs\, Connecting Principles for attachment needs\, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment\, sensory processing\, and neuroscience research\, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.

SUMMARY:Parent Support: Avoiding Power Struggles When the Power is Mine to Share
DESCRIPTION:When we don’t see the meaning behind behaviors\, we are at risk of entering in a power struggle with our children. Children who have experienced trauma have overwhelming behaviors. As parents we must see the meaning behind the behavior and meet the need for our child to prevent power struggles and optimize healing. In this session\, we will discuss the reasons behind these difficult behaviors and how to respond to them using the IDEAL response from TBRI®. Our parent coaching sessions are workshops for foster and adoptive parents with a small number of participants. Bring your specific questions as our parent trainer will be able to give more one on one answers due to the small number of participants in the group. \nFoster parents will receive a certificate of attendance for continuing education credits. \nThis is an online training. You will receive the link to join after registering for the event.

SUMMARY:It's Not His Fault: Understanding My Child's Relationship Patterns
DESCRIPTION:Trauma experienced in early childhood\, impacts a child’s relationships\, even later in life. \nAs parents of children with trauma\, we might not always understand why it might be difficult for our child to form healthy relationships . We might find ourselves wondering if they will be able to attach to us\, be good friends or get along with thier siblings. In this session we will take a closer look at how our child’s history influences thier attachment patters and in turn their relationship with us and others. We will also find the hope in applying connection strategies to help our child heal and grow. \nOur parent support sessions are online trainings with a small number of participants and a facilitator that has been there and understands how difficult it could be to parent a child who has experienced trauma. This is a great time to bring your specific questions as our parent trainer will be able to give more one on one answers due to the small number of participants in the group. \nFoster parents will receive a certificate of attendance for continuing education credits.  \nThis is an online training. Please register for the training on the link below.
