SUMMARY:Is My Child Angry or Scared? Recognizing My Child's Fear Responses
DESCRIPTION:Many times when a child who has live through trauma is operating with fear\, it looks like they are angry. \nFear bullies children to display what looks like bad behavior . It can be frustrating\, as parents\, to not recognize where the behavior is coming from and easier to react to their behavior than the need behind it. When we can recognize our child’s fear responses\, we can meet the need and help our child feel safe and move them out of their fear responses. In this session we will take a closer look at how trauma in early child impacts a child’s fear responses. We will also find the hope in applying strategies to help our child heal and grow. \nOur parent support sessions are online trainings with a small number of participants and a facilitator that has been there and understands how difficult it could be to parent a child who has experienced trauma. This is a great time to bring your specific questions as our parent trainer will be able to give more one on one answers due to the small number of participants in the group. \nFoster parents will receive a certificate of attendance for continuing education credits.  \nThis is an online training. You will receive the link to join after registering for the event.
