How many days before you get that call\, you know the one? \nIn this session\, we will discuss how we can start the year with energy and take a break when we need it. We will cover how to share our child’s particular needs with folks at school and how much to share. We’ll touch on whether our child needs the added support of a 504 or special education. \nParticipants will receive a template for a teacher letter to share with your child’s teacher to help them better understand how trauma has impacted your child’s brain and tips for teachers to help your child be successful.

DESCRIPTION:As parents of children with trauma\, we might find it hard to talk to our children about their difficult story. We might find ourselves wondering if we will retraumatize them or hurt them by talking about it. The truth is\, many times\, they are already thinking about their story and we must create a safe space to allow them to process it. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs\, Connecting Principles for attachment needs\, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment\, sensory processing\, and neuroscience research\, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.
