These issues can be overwhelming for kids and can lead them to have difficulties learning or socializing. In this session we will learn the basics to understand sensory processing issues and the tools that can help kids and how to make changes for them in our home. Our parent coaching sessions are workshops with a small number of participants. DESCRIPTION:Families who are caring for children who have experienced trauma need everyone on their team to understand their child and family dynamics. \nIf you are a social worker\, teacher\, case manager or any other professional serving foster and adoptive families with children who have experienced trauma\, this training is for you! \nIn this training you will learn the science behind how trauma impacts the brain\, body and behavior of a child\, as well as practical strategies to help families heal the child who comes from a hard place. The participants will learn practical trauma informed strategies that they can implement in the work they do with families everyday.\nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN:\n1. The lifelong impact of trauma\n2. DESCRIPTION:Summer vacation is often a time where parents feel overwhelmed and in need of more support. \nParents have reported feeling more isolated with the added stress of Covid-19 during this time and less able to parent in a connected\, trauma informed way. Summer Slide Support is a 6-week intensive support group for foster and adoptive parents. In this group you will have the opportunity to meet with other parents who foster and adopt \, have a short time to review trauma informed parent strategies led by a parent coach\, connect through group discussion and have a one on one time with a parent coach to guide you through the more difficult issues your children are experiencing. \nThe 6-week support group will meet via video conferencing call every other week with the parent support group\, and every week in-between those sessions you will have the opportunity to meet (virtually) with a parent coach for additional support. DESCRIPTION:Summer vacation is often a time where parents feel overwhelmed and in need of more support. \nParents have reported feeling more isolated with the added stress of Covid-19 during this time and less able to parent in a connected\, trauma informed way. Summer Slide Support is a 6-week intensive support group for foster and adoptive parents. In this group you will have the opportunity to meet with other parents who foster and adopt \, have a short time to review trauma informed parent strategies led by a parent coach\, connect through group discussion and have a one on one time with a parent coach to guide you through the more difficult issues your children are experiencing. \nThe 6-week support group will meet via video conferencing call every other week with the parent support group\, and every week in-between those sessions you will have the opportunity to meet (virtually) with a parent coach for additional support.
