SUMMARY:Access to the Experts: TBRI® For Teens
DESCRIPTION:This training will be offered via Zoom. \nDate & Time: Thursday\, March 24th from 9:00 am-1:00 pm \nDescription: The teenage years can be a difficult transition for adolescents & the adults that love them. With all the stress the world puts on our teens … we want to make sure their safe space is with us while still helping them develop into healthy attached adults … no matter how long we have them! \nSo what does it look like to be a safe adult in the life of an adolescent who has loss\, trauma\, or the foster care system? \nWhat is TBRI®? \nTBRI® is an attachment-based\, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs\, Connecting Principles for attachment needs\, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment\, sensory processing\, and neuroscience research\, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.

SUMMARY:When Fear Bullies Your Child
DESCRIPTION:Fear bullies our children that come from a hard place. Learning strategies to maximize their sense of safety is essential for healing. \nOur parent coaching sessions are online training with a small number of participants. This week we will dive into understanding how fear impacts a child’s behavior\, causing them to respond with flight\, fight\, or freeze\, and strategies that will help their brains relax\, mature\, and grow. This is a great time to bring your specific questions as our parent trainer will be able to give more one-on-one answers due to the small number of participants in the group.

SUMMARY:TBRI® for Teens: Correction
DESCRIPTION:In this Parent Support Session\, we will look deeper into how to incorporate the correction strategies from TBRI®for teens. Correction is about looking at the need behind the behavior and meeting that need. We might believe our teen has the same skills as their peers\, but because trauma impacts development\, we will have to teach those skills to them. Many times\, correction begins with setting our bar where they can be successful. Join other parents who are also navigating the teen years during this small group training and discussion. \n Foster parents will receive a certificate of completion for CEUs.

SUMMARY:Is My Child Angry or Scared? Recognizing My Child's Fear Responses

We will also find the hope in applying strategies to help our child heal and grow. \nOur parent support sessions are online trainings with a small number of participants and a facilitator that has been there and understands how difficult it could be to parent a child who has experienced trauma. This is a great time to bring your specific questions as our parent trainer will be able to give more one on one answers due to the small number of participants in the group. \nFoster parents will receive a certificate of attendance for continuing education credits.  \nThis is an online training.
